Songs & Singers : Mhd. Rafi Vs Kishore Kumar : Incomparable Gems!

One can compare various aspects of life, such as quality,
quantity, skills, and logics. But, Mhd. Rafi Sahab and Kishore Kumar
were beyond any comparison. They were legends. Their soulful voice, songs, had
magic and blessings of the god because of which they are still remembered, and
their songs are sung by today's generation. Their songs have appeal and have
that freshness, which is missing today. Given the shelf value of today's songs,
which remains on the charts for few week, and people forget, the songs of Rafi
Sahab and Kishore Da still fill that
void.
Agree that both legends have their staunch
followers, and diehard fans. But they will agree that both the legends were versatile.
They were hardworking, dedicated and honest to their songs. The different genre
of the music was handled so ably by them. Some of the Rafi Sahab's songs : ehsaan
tera hoga mujh par, ae ma teri surat se alag, bhagwan
ki surat kya hogi, tere mere sapne ab ek rang hain, teri galiyon mein na
rakhenge kadam, kya hua tera waada, deewana hua badal, khoya khoya chaand, chaahonga
main tujhe.. Were more poetic, while the songs
like: ye chaand sa roshan
chehra, satte pe satta were more light.
Same was with the Kishore Da. His songs like Chingari koyi bhadke, mera jeevan kora
kaagaz, zindagi ka safar, o maanjhi re, diye jalte hain phool khilte hain,
chookar mere mann ko, phoolon ka taaron ka, raah pe rehate hain…they
were serious meaningful songs, which made people to acknowledge the sheer
mettle of him. His songs like: mere
saamne waali khidaki mein, ruk jaana nahin tu kabhi haar ke, jahan teri ye
nazar hai, muqqadar ka sikandar, jaan-e-jaan dhoondta phir raha…were
on a light note, which is still fresh on our mind.
So no matter, what type of song/s
it was, sad, gloomy, dark, depressing or light, optimistic, funny, love songs. They
sang effortlessly and justified all of the songs to the hilt. They were
complete in every term. They were rich of their talent. They made a place in
the heart of people. Their songs are companion of different moods and
situations. They were incomparable Gems!
