Songs & Singers

Songs & Singers : Mhd. Rafi Vs Kishore Kumar : Incomparable Gems! Image Courtesy : sweetslyrics.com Image Courtesy :  yoodleeyoo.com One can compare various aspects of life, such as quality, quantity, skills, and logics. But, Mhd. Rafi Sahab and Kishore Kumar were beyond any comparison. They were legends. Their soulful voice, songs, had magic and blessings of the god because of which they are still remembered, and their songs are sung by today's generation. Their songs have appeal and have that freshness, which is missing today. Given the shelf value of today's songs, which remains on the charts for few week, and people forget, the songs of Rafi Sahab and Kishore Da still fill that void. Agree that both legends have their staunch followers, and diehard fans. But they will agree that both the legends were versatile. They were hardworking, dedicated and honest to their songs. The different genre of the music was handled so ably by them. Some of t

Movies

Movies : that ends with a sad note, makes me feel low! I mage Courtesy : chakpak.com i don't like the sad, tragic ending of movies. i don't mean they are vulgar or poor, but because i could not recover from their long lasting effects. they pull me back. they have lasted in my memories. why so? i don't know. why each of the scene is clearly visible in the mind? do they speak some reality about ourselves, that who we are? and what life is all about? or is it the death, loss which is the ultimate story and defining moment of life, that these movies depicts? the Anand movie starring Rajesh Khanna made me cry. And the reason was not that disease which he was suffering from, in the movie, but the song of the movie zindagi kaisi hai paheli... the innocent look of Rajesh Khanna, with bunch of balloons in one hand, wearing a simple kurta , strolling near the beach and singing the above song. the close up shots, the pain and the smile on his face (beautifully depicted!)....

Technology : Please give sometime to relish you! Image Courtesy : clker.com was busy in dusting and mopping. it has  been months i guess, i didn't clean my poor assembled desktop which now belongs to a bygone era, with its given configurations and loud cabinet. as i started cleaning it, for a moment i felt hmm once it was my companion of  entertainment, networking and work. now it is quite. neglected. dull and gloomy, maybe jealous of the sleek uber cool lappy , which became the reason for my distances from it. now no more greetings, switch on or shut down. it is quite. lying at the corner of the room. looked at the  monitor, an image appeared of the motherboard, maybe asking questions : why you left me? wasn't i once your best friend? your power-point slides were created here? your photographs of facebook was edited here? and you remember you made your account here.....and now you boast in front of 100s of your new friends, that you own a lappy and am of no use? so

Adjustments : a life

Adjustments : A Life!! :-) Was traveling in the bus today (it’s a daily chore though), traveling from morning to evening here in Delhi. Public transport, you know, how crowded it is here that you have to jostle to make your feet firm on the ground because surging crowd will take you to straight to the driver by pushing and nudging you and that too, without any of your efforts. Yes it is difficult to get a seat in bus. It is a matter of the all good deeds which you did in your past life/previous birth that makes you the best suitable contender for a seat, in the bus. Believe me it’s not less than a Royal Throne, everyone keeps an eye on it and lust for it. The moment a seat gets vacated people rush to grab the 'once-in -a-lifetime-opportunity' (though for few hours!) but the reflection of satisfaction (still to be researched) on the face of the ultimate winner is beyond any explanation. What happens is, the buses are loaded and run more than its capacity. So seats get

Freedom of Speech and Expressions : How Just it is and How People Justify? Photo Courtesy : clker.com OK let us understand with a simple story of two friend A &B. Two friends A & B belonging to different religion/community were best friends. They shared their moments with one another.  B was a famous artist and had a status in the society. While A belonged to humble background with traditional style of living and thinking. But they were litmus tested friends. One day B invited A to his Art Gallery to show him some latest Creation which he felt to unveil first to him.  When A reached the Art Gallery he was very excited in the anticipation that he is a special person today. B sensing his friend's curiosity made it more interesting by putting a satin curtain on them and asked his friend A to remove them himself. When A removed the curtain he was speechless, appalled and stunned! What he couldn't imagine was a nude painting of Ma

Delhi Gate

Delhi 100 Delhi/ Dilli Gate of Najafgarh, New Delhi Photo:   Delhi   Gate, Najafgarh (from my mobile phone) It is a matter of great pride for every citizen of India that Delhi , is celebrating 100 proud years for being the Capital of India.  It was in year 1911 during the rule of Imperial power the capital was shift from Calcutta (present Kolkata) to Delhi . 100 years is indeed a very long time period. Delhi is a historical city with plethora of monuments narrating the enigmatic past of it. I have been fortunate to see most of the popular historical monuments and buildings of Delhi including India Gate, Red Fort, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar , Old Fort, Lotus Temple , Parliament of India and so. But, the monument which attracts my fascination is the one which I regularly visit. It is something which although being a part of Delhi ’s history is not so popular. It is the Delhi/ Dilli Gate of Najafgarh (Coordinates: 28°36′45″N 76°59′05″E, So

Phoenix

Image Courtesy : clipart-for-free.blogspot.com Phoenix Am a Phoenix will rise for sure, this day as i mark, you know will remind me, not from your curse, and not from your bless, i will rise from the pain, i will rise from the agony, yes from your jealousy, the day past was mortal, but now i will live, with your love, with the depth of your care i will rise.
Who am I? The Day is correct, so was the fateful day, the year is what, he gets confuse, even today! Some felt he was old just like them, wished it could be false, can't he be young? What was in him, that was so odd? Child of the destiny, creation of the God. Was it his thoughts, or defect in the outlook, neglected by ogling eyes, met at every nook. How can he identify, his own self-worth? when you, the angels are living on this earth. - Harish Benjwal
